Wile E. Coyote has a long history with explosives, so the 4th of July is a special day for him. A particularly close call under his rear end has gotten his buns tingling and glowing cherry-bomb red. Convinced he's avoided an embarrassing backfire, he exits, tauntingly shaking his hot booty. What he doesn't know, however, is that the blast has ignited his tail, which now burns like a fuse towards his unsuspecting fanny. The coyote shimmies over a hill, but soon he rockets back into view, propelled by his flaming buttocks. Wile E. is sometimes accused of having a short fuse, but here, the fire takes its own sweet time. Adapted from the WB cartoon "Soup Or Sonic."Related content

Dottie says: Hehehe! I remember this, too, because this was the day we met! I love the 4th of July and I was watching Wile showing off with his fireworks when he had his little "accident." I couldn't stop laughing and he got really embarrassed and a little bit angry, too, so I just said to him, "Oh, be a good sport. You have a very nice butt—to set on fire!" He was still blushing, but he started to smile, and that was when I realized he was a very special kind of coyote. The next time we met he couldn't stop blushing, and that's when I knew he liked me. He's still very accident-prone, though. *•*

Another classic! The funniest part of Wile's mishaps was that he always only had himself to blame for his rear end's misfortunes. In true toon justice fashion, his bottom pays the price for his schemes in every episode, often more than once! Here we can foresee him falling back down from a considerable height to a particularly painful prickly landing straddling that conveniently located cactus.

For anyone else, an icebucket would indicate festivities. For Wile, it only means several nights spent sleeping on his tummy. ^~,~^
