Description (Avatar The Last  Airbender vs Kung Fu Panda)

Both are enthusiastic, happy go lucky, child-like, charismatic, kind hearted martial artists with a strong sense of justice who are the protagonists of influential, long running, western made animated series that are heavily influenced by asian culture where their main themes revolve around responsibility, destiny, spiritualism, acceptance and change (Avatar/Kung Fu Panda).
Both of their lives started out as being ordinary people who were born into a race with a strong connection to spirits (Airbenders/Pandas) which was wiped out by an tyrannical overlord associated with fire in fear of a prophecy but they luckily managed to escape it (Fire Lord Sozin feared the prophecy of Avatar coming to stop them from conquering the world/Lord Shen feared the prophecy of his defeat at the hands of a warrior of Black and White). In the beginning of their journey, both ended up being the most unlikely candidates for the chosen one role that is carried throughout generations who was destined to master the life energies of their respective verse to bring balance to their world despite being hesitant about it at first yet tried their best to do so with their mentors (Aang surprised his peers when he was chosen as the Avatar who was destined to master all forms of Bending to bring balance to the world so he tried his best to be the Avatar to follow his task as long as Gyasto stays to help/Po surprised the Furious Five and the Jade Palace where Oogway chose him as the Dragon Warrior who was destined to master Chi to protect all of China but he tried his best to be the Dragon Warrior due to his insecurities so wanted Shifu to help “fix” him) but this would cause a huge impact on their lives where they initially reject their chosen one mantle due to under confidence in themselves and the amount of responsibility they’d have to handle so they decided to run away from their duties (Aang ran away because the Monks were about to seperate him from his friends and Monk Gyasto/Po ran away because of Tai Lung returning and thought that he wasn’t cut out for the job) but their companions made them believe they can achieve greatness so they decided to move forward (Katara/Oogway). One of their first deeds involves legendary, hot headed masters who initially rejected them teaching but seeing their power changed their thoughts and learnt to believe (Shifu/Jeong Jeong). Both were raised not by their biological parents (Aang’s parents not being mentioned and were likely distant/Po being separated from his parents) but by humble, loving caretakers who taught them how to make a certain food important to their family (Cakes/Noodles) and taught them about the importance of destiny and believing within yourself (Monk Gyasto/Mr Ping). Both are the leaders of a rag tag group of fighters that travels around and helps people in need (Gaang/Furious Five), including a hot headed friend of theirs to a more calm and friendly person (Zuko/Tigress). Both were also mortally wounded at one point in the story by a fire themed conqueror (Princess Azula striking Aang with lightning/Po being shot by Shen’s anti Kung Fu cannons) but were then saved later on as well as being believed to be dead by many at one point. After learning about the death of their parental figure from the genocide they escaped (Monk Gyatso/Po’s mother), it caused a huge shift within themselves and the series but they ended up moving forward after achieving a spiritual flow of peace and acceptance with the help of an old and wise person at the near end of the second act (Aang finding the Water Chakra with the help of Guru Lagima/Po finding Inner Peace when being told by Soothsayer to let it flow) and were able to defeat the antagonists associated with the genocide (Fire Lord Ozai/Lord Shen). Both learned various martial arts and abilities in their journey in order to achieve their maximum potential, eventually surpassing their friends and becoming one of the most powerful fighter in their respective verse with a strong connection to the afterlife and having a state (Avatar State/Mastery of Chi) where they tap into the life energies and the spiritual entity sealed inside of them (Raava, the Avatar Spirit whom Avatar State draws power from along with the past Avatars/Po having a soul of a dragon who are spiritual beings and is able to create a dragon construct with his Chi and is able to transform into one) they were destined to master but despite their progression and growth, they still kept their iconic wit and goofy personality. Both learnt the use of mystical abilities that revolve around either giving others power or taking it away (Energybending/Chi) that was discovered by a spiritual turtle (Lion Turtle/Oogway) in order to defeat the antagonists who seek to kill them in the third and final act (Fire Lord Ozai/Kai). Both have also fought a sadistic and psychotic prodigy who became mentally unstable because of being denied their rights (Azula/Tai Lung). Both their tribes were later helped restored by them (Air Nation/Pandas) after avenging their lost ones and finding their inner peace along with both being remembered as the greatest heroes in their respective verse with them being represented by a glowing aura within the conclusion of their stories.
