Ever since hearing about this character from the episode Ken10 I'd been wondering what he would look like and how his powers would function. After seeing this piece by insanedude24 inspired by I decided I wanted to create my own version of the character with some similar attributes.Sandbox can manipulate and generate sand using the primary node very similar to Goop's UFO. The differences here are that Sandbox can create temporary physical structures and even harden his sand into rock-like projectiles. He is substantially weak to both immense heat and cold. My main question was with an alien who has so much potential to be cool why doesn't Ken want the transformation Sandbox? It could be seen as a massive weakness to Sandbox that a huge amount of concentration is needed to function as sandbox and being able to control each grain of sand individually. I'm sure with practice he can be quite powerful, but for a ten year old's first alien transformation Sandbox is basically useless.

This is definitely a good piece. I myself always wondered what Sandbox might look like when I heard about him (as I didn't jump on the Ben 10 train until Omniverse). And while the similarities between Insanedude and kjmarch's own interpretations can be seen and are at times quite obvious, you managed to give it your spin that helped differentiate it enough to call it original.

I agree with your statement with Ken not wanting Sandbox, being able to control sand is such an underrated power (I'm assuming that is Sandbox's power after all). My headcanon is that Sandbox is a very powerful alien and used by Ben often like his other elemental aliens but maybe Ken underestimates Sandbox since Sand Manipulation doesn't sound that impressive on the surface and he's just a kid who looks at things on a surface level.

I still think an alien named Sandbox should be able to do more than just move sand. He could change entire landscapes, make deserts lush or forests barren. He could be the second most powerful alien next to AlienX. But all he does is move sand.

I personally put Sandbox around the same level as Sir Crocodile from One Piece in terms of power level but with Sandman's (Marvel comics) shapeshifting capabilities. I like to think he also has the ability to absorb moisture from objects at will just like Sir Crocodile.

Mmm, nice. I actually had a thing for that:
My take on Sandbox is actually in two forms; Their younger forms is a chrysalis-like state that allows them to create a sandstorm...but while nigh-invulnerable, they are mostly stationary. However, when matured, they are a dangerously skilled hunter with razor sharp claws and the ability to dig into most materials...to make a sand pit that can create a sandstorm. And even without that, they can create balsts of sand from the torso and has a high heat resistance, but the heat can turn the sand to glass easily.

Wow I really love the idea of a stationary alien who generates attacks all around them. I may take this into consideration in another alien if that's okay. And your design deff makes sense for the character.

Thanks XP Again, it's only when it's a kid that it does that. So thus in the Ken 10 time period where Ken would get it? It makes it almost hard for a kid like him who wants to be part of the action to fight since, you know...VERY defense-driven and only good in close-quartered areas.

Thanks XP The mature design is based on Antlions and dragonflies, but the previous state is based around the chrysalis/'molt' stages some insects have to go through. Thus they are rather...stuck to a spot. However...when pushed down, it's hard for them to move. So if Ben got it at 10, it'd only be good in a close area that would allow him to manipulate the sand storm better.
