Stress is not fun at all, and I think though yeah this is simple. It really expresses stress well! The sharp angle's, style, the black patches show it well! I think this is a really good piece, after all Art is about expresses ourselves. There's no 'right' or 'wrong' artwork. Art has no guidelines, no rules, its just art!

I'm sorry your so stressed, I pray and hope things get better

Oh man, I totally understand your pain I think everyone goes through that now and again, but you just have to get through it! Believe me when I say, you are such a good artist, and if you need to take some time to maybe just rest without doing some art, I'm sure no one would complain? I mean, jesus, even this pic is so cool, those blues with that sketchy lineart looks really nice ;u;

Aw dang man I know that feeling all too well. But even if you don't like what you're drawing now, it's really clear it has some very, very wonderful design aspects. The more sketchy lineart coupled with the scribbled out head and jagged angles really speak of an anxiety and stressful emotion, especially when paired with contrasting colors like blue and orange. But the creature is still contained and positioned in an orderly way and the stripes give a pattern for the eyes to follow. Yet I can also see this pose being tense and strained a little, like the creature almost wants to leap up and dart away. All in all it's a really good piece for showing how thinly veiled anxiety can be and while at first glance you might be controlled and contained, it wouldn't take much to cause you to flip out. I can really relate to that, especially as of late, since obligations to tons of stuff coupled with so much art I need to draw in a short amount of time make me wanna just combust sometimes. But you're a wonderful artist Densy and there's tons of people who'll love and support you through times like this. Everyone deserves time to breathe and regain their creative flow.

There are times when I do look to the other artists around me and think: I'm just not that good enough, or that my art is overly cutesy, or my art lacks the impact that I wish it had. Those moments are few and far in between, but when they hit, they hit pretty hard and I can understand the frustration, of every line you look at being imperfect and not at all the expression you'd wish it to be.

But I also like to look at it this way: You've come a long long way, and you've had countless art experiences, you've made a wonderful community that loves and supports its creators, you've done a lot that no one has yet to do and probably looks up to you for. However, that being said, no matter what, we all have those days still and just because we have certain things doesn't mean we should automatically be happy for it, its just good to remind ourselves of what we do have from time to time. So take this as a chance to strive and get better, instead of letting your current lack of patience and frustration get to you, allow it to fuel you, become your own better, strive to continuously better yourself, experiment, or hell, maybe today is just a day you should have to yourself and do whatever the hell YOU want, whatever you end up doing, just try not to stew in it for long v uv *pat pat*<3

Thats me right now!

I've been trying bling contour, continuous line drawings and honestly just dripping paint onto canvases
mix it up kid
have some fun with it

I do a lot of the same stuff over and over and if I don't try some new weird things sometimes I get really bored and frustrated

A friend of mine gave me a really good piece of advice the other day on this topic and I'd like to take a moment to share it with you

Try imagining you're someone else looking at your art. A lot of the time it's hard for us to love/like our own style or way we draw because we're constantly comparing ourselves to someone we deem 'better than ourselves', when everyone else around you sees your art in a completely different light. Take a moment to imagine if you were that someone else looking at this. I think it's quite common for us to be extremely over-critical of ourselves an I know there's a lot of people that simply adore your artwork (myself included!) and love how you draw a lot, so just don't forget that!

If you feel like you're struggling with finding a style you are satisfied with, perhaps doing a few studies and/or trying to learn a few new drawing techniques may give you some inspiration~ I always find that when I get frustrated, the best way for me to feel better about myself is by learning a few new things and trying them in my next drawings.

Good luck man, and stay awesome! We love you Densy <3

Even though you are feeling a bit down on your art right now, I think this piece is a brilliant expression of stress.  The simple colors and stripes (order) on the creature contrast perfectly with the scribbled out head (chaos).  This, to me, represents the way one can look like they have their shit together on the outside while their mind is just a jumbled mass of anxiety.  I can relate/connect to that deeply.  I hope you feel better soon.  Though I understand that no amount of praise and encouragement can get a person out of one of these moods, I want you to know that even the art you seem to detest is amazing and expressive.  That's the truth, whether you can believe it right now or not. <3

I'm glad!   Hang in there, man.  The inner critic is a nasty little beast, but your creative spirit is stronger!

I know the feeling ;m; it usually happens to me when I have other irl things to look after or just are not in the mood.
Don't force yourself to draw if you can't. Take a break, even if it's weeks or a month. By then you'll be able to get back to the canvas with a fresh start ;v;
