So basically I've been working on this for a while and here you are!

My own little tribute to the Espada. I decided to use a mattress because their the ten aspects of death so effectively it's a "Death Bed".

See what I did there...

Anyway, this thing took me a month, so I'll discuss each part individually.

Yammy: Yammy I decided to do in acrylic paint, because of the intensity I could get with the colours in order to fully represent rage, so I used red and yellow for a good contrast. Surprisingly I actually enjoyed working on this section, not because I like Yammy as a character, but I like the graphic feel the paint had as I was doing it, as well as it being fun to use acrylic.

Aaroneiro: I kind of ran out of ideas as Aaroneiro was one of the last I did, so I just went with Photoshopped images on A4, to be honest I didn't really feel like pushing the boat out for Aaroneiro... I mean the guy lost to Rukia...

Anyway, I made the images grey and metallic looking to sort of symbolise precious metal, and used a green background as a reference to money. I tried to make it look like a dollar bill or something with Aaroneiro on it, but it didn't turn out totally right. I also stuck some pennies on just to solidify the reference to Greed

Szayelapporo: Another fun yet slightly frustrating section. I used brightly coloured chalk on black card to represent sort of madness through colour and Szayelapporo's crazy nature. Drawing out the section was frustrating though. I couldn't get his mouth right for a long time. But in the end he turned out ok.

Zommari: I ended up really not liking this one, I couldn't not get his proportions right. Stupid Zommari...
I get there in the end and used ink and pencil crayon again to create a contrast, and I stuck some syringes near the top just to reference Intoxication, but I think I did that the ink as well. He kind of looks like a Rorschach test. o0...

Grimmjow: I loved doing this one, it might be my favourite. Basically, if you can see it in the photo. Grimmjow's section is made up of segmented pieces of cardboard kind of like a jigsaw puzzle . I did this to give the piece a look of shattered glass, to represent destruction. On the cardboard I used oil pastels, as I love Grimmy's vibrant blues and green and I really wanted impactful colour for his section

Nnoitra: I used watercolours to give a dripping slimy effect to reflect his creepy persona...I worked on his section at night in my cold annex, and just drawing his smile gave me nightmares...Bad times. Uhh... that smile...

Ulquiorra: For Ulqui I wanted something simple yet impactful, so I printed a stencil of him onto A4 sized pieces of acetate and it gave it a really cool impact of the black ink on to the white mattress and also gave the section a feel of Emptiness as you could see through the acetate. I was really pleased with his section

Tia: Tia was one of the difficult ones. Something about her face was incredible difficult to draw. When I did finish the outline. I used tea and coffee to do her shading and features.

Don't ask me how tea and coffee reference Sacrifice. Maybe Aizen made the Espada sacrifice their tea party to go fight Ichigo and the others? I really don't know...

Barragan: Since I wanted Barragans to symbolise Aging, I photoshopped his image onto individual photographs and then inverted the images. I arranged them like a photo album because photos usually are kept as memories of the past so I liked the subtle reference to the passage of time.

Starrk: Good old pencil sketch. I think the simplicity of the media I used reflect Starrk's simple existence all alone. He was probably the hardest to get right in terms of proportions and shading but I think I did OK.
