It was the sort of place that could have been anything, a clothing store, a retail outlet, really anything.  That it was now a video rental store seemed incidental.  Yet it was the tawdry feel of the place, the damp and musty carpeting, the smell of cigarettes and dust, the dead flies in the corners of the room, that drew Regina so absolutely and completely.  It was the sort of place where anything could happen..........but nothing ever did.

Wow! I have always been impressed by your landscapes, but they never cease to amaze me! The first panel is spectacular! The perspective is great, the amount of the details is stunning and the shading is beautiful! I like how you showed the textures  of wood and pavement. And there are so many different posters! Those are cool! The interior also looks excellent! It is a great way to set the scene!

Hi there, I'm from !!

First off I'd like to say that I'm super impressed with your proportions and scene setting! I'm super bad at comics/ drawing environments personally, so it's impressive to me when someone attempts it and does it well! You have a good sense of scaling, and the buildings and video store look pretty good to me!

If I had any critique to make, I would say to try and add more blacks/ darks to your pages. The darkest part of the last two panels are the person's hair, and it kind of makes the eye stay on them rather than wander the scene, which is what you want in a large panel like that. Don't be afraid to add darks and highlights - I know it's daunting to do so traditionally where you can't take it back, but I would try copying the panel and trying out adding more blacks. Practice on some copies/ tracings of your panels and see what you like doing/ what works for you. It'll set the atmosphere a lot better - right now, the scenes are a bit flat. Adding some lighting/ shading would do wonders!

I REALLY like the cross-hatching you did in the first panel - definitely do that more! Push it and make things contrast more. You have a good sense of scaling, you're good at drawing environments, now you just need to refine your lighting and contrasting darks/ lights.

Well thank you so much for your advice!  I like the copying idea a lot!  I really appreciate the feedback overall.

Well I'm glad it's going over well!  I wasn't sure about redraws.  I do enough as it is.  Time has just been such that I haven't done much writing for the next few sequences.

I love how you set the scene and especially with your description too. That really pushed it to a new level

Well done

Thank you!  This was originally a novel.  That was from a page I found the other day.
