Description
Copic markers and liners on Mixed Media paper. I had to stop after my sixth pass on the skin for fear of ruining it.Thinking of adding some colored pencils...
Done as part of a theme/challenge for my local art group.

Awesome use of your Copics! I'm still learning how to use mine properly. This looks really great, but I do see how you might wanna use colored pencils to add texture. Again, not that this drawing is lacking in that department; I think you achieved the proper effect with markers alone. That wooden shield/totem thing on his arm especially fascinates me for some reason.

Thanks! This was as much a practice piece as it was a lucky accident. But if nothing else I managed to find a good work flow with the markers.
I'm also glad I was able to save the arm totem thingy, I used the wrong base color, but thankfully it blended well with the darker colors.
Can't wait to see some of your stuff, man! I think I'm going to stick to the greyscale sets until I really get a solid grasp on these.
