Contest Announcement
Dear members,
I am pleased to announce another all mediums contest projecteducate is hosting for the coming month. Please carefully read all the details below to find out how to enter!
The Prompt:
We often find that a piece of art can be described with one word, one word that encapsulates everything about it. For this contest, we'd like to challenge you to approach this notion in the reverse order. We'd like you to pick one word, and create a piece of art around that word. Pick the word first, then decide what you could create to turn that word into an entire piece of art.
Important Guidelines:
- We will absolutely favor those who choose descriptive or symbolic words (i.e: nefarious, serendipity, ethereal, iridescent, epiphany, etc) and create a whole piece around that word rather than more literal cases like painting a dog and using the word "dog" or writing a poem about loss and using the word "loss". The more thought you put into your word and your piece, the better your chances are.
- If you would like to choose a word in a different language, that would be acceptable as long as you can provide us with a translation of it.
- Make sure that when we look at your piece of art and the word you chose they make sense with each other in a meaningful way. The word you chose is incredibly important, and you should absolutely be choosing the word FIRST and only creating your piece after having chosen it. That's the entire point of the contest.
The Rules:
- Your piece of art MUST be newly created AFTER this contest was announced. We often have people try to pass off old artwork that they "newly" uploaded as their entry, please do not try this, it's not fair to all the other artists who actually followed the rules.
- The title of your deviation should be the word you chose.
- It must be 1 word, there cannot be more than 1 word.
- The description of your deviation should explain your deviation is an entry to this contest.
- To enter, link your entry in a comment on this journal.
- ALL ART MEDIUMS ARE ACCEPTED
whether it's literature, fan art, comics, photography, etc etc!
The Deadline:
10th of May at 11:59PM Pacific Time (Los Angeles)
The Prizes:
1 winner will be chosen and will receive a 6 month core membership and 2,000
+ a full colored commission (without background) and achibi commission from Nenril-Tf
+ a portrait of a person or a pet by Loisa like one of these:

Winners of the 'One Word' All Mediums Contest!Dear members,
We recently hosted an all mediums contest around the theme "one word" here is a brief reminder of the prompt:

For this contest, we'd like to challenge you to approach this notion in the reverse order. We'd like you to pick one word, and create a piece of art around that word. A jury of Community Volunteers went through the many many many entries we received, and I must say, we all struggled to pick winners, as there were SO MANY outstanding entries! You should all be so incredibly proud of the work you submitted! Due to this, I requested an additional prize be given, to a second winner, instead of just having 1 winner as was initially planned.

SpotlightI'm a young, mature lady
with a sparkly bright future
filled with tons of money,
because I'm getting my degree
in Attention-Seeking and Self-pitying (A.S.S)
My life is so so busy;
more busy than you busy people.
Still I have time to take selfies
which people say are lovely.
But I'm so unloved, so ugly - why aren't you contradicting me?
You see me all lovey-dovey
with my sweet, perfect boyfriend.
Though we call each other honey,
he hogs all the attention,
leaving me a poor lonely baby.
Oh you too are in misery?
I'll lend you an ear,
and then say "I see"
before talking about me, me, me.
Because my problems are worse than yours - clearly.
That's okay though, really.
You don't have to comfort me
when I say I forgot to eat today, no biggie.

Here's my work, using the word "Deicide":
DeicideBeing a god was one thing. Being an immortal god was another.
I just thought of it and shivered. Everything okay with being all-mighty and stuff. But everything okay if that was for a while. Three, four thousand years… Good. But not forever.
Right in my three thousand and five hundred years of life, I was already kind of tired. When you live centuries, you get a lot of deja vu’s. You’ve seen everything at least once. You’ve seen empires rise and fall, people being born, people dying, all kind of diseases, all kind of love stories, every type of person that exists. You’ve seen animal species disappearing and new ones developing. You’ve seen the progress and modernity.
And at the end, you are not surprised by anything anymore, and that is not fun. And I love having fun. So, given that fun wouldn’t come from others, I invented my own.
I went to extremes, to be honest. Few, if not only me, would consider murder as fun. And I didn’t murder som

I didn't know if I should go in a positive direction or like you, in the more darker atmosphere. People voted for a happy emotion. So mine is now "carefree"...but I need to paint it yet...need to hurry
