At projecteducate we're trying a new type of regular mini contests of sorts where we encourage you to tap into your creative juices and produce some form of art, related to a specific theme or prompt. If you have any recommendations or thoughts on types of contests or challenges you'd like to see, please let us know! The point is that these are quick little contests that also challenge your ability to produce something quickly, so don't fret, we are not expecting masterpieces that would normally take you a month or more to produce.
Prompt:
Produce a piece of art, whether it be a poem, a painting, a photo, a sketch, etc, that is related to the concept of the apocalypse. The apocalypse is defined as "the complete final destruction of the world, especially as described in the biblical book of Revelation" but it does not need to be religious. Basically create a piece of any art medium somehow related to the end of the world, you can interpret this in many many ways, you could create a piece related to preparing for the apocalypse, during it, after it, showing the human side, the perspective from space, the cause of the apocalypse, just let your imagination run wild.

They were being chased by a band of humans holding up a banner signifying they were from a particular clan. Humans liked to divide themselves like that.
Courage had given them away. She had woken up before Virtue and had gone flying. Virtue told her never to take flight--humans had guns that could shoot Angels down. But Courage often said to him, "what's the point of having wings if we can't use them?"
Virtue didn't know what the point was; but he also knew flying was tantamount to death or capture. It had been that way for thousands of years now--ever since the world turned brown and the toxins flooded the earth.

Homer plunked the moon-shaped object into the ancient music playing device. He held his breath unconsciously as his armored finger hovered over the button labeled with a small right-facing triangle. He glanced at his pet firg, “this may be it my friend.”
The firg, whom he’d named Coda brushed by his leg. It didn’t understand what he was saying of course, but it felt Homer’s excitement. Homer hit the button and sound emitted briefly from the music player. A tune began to play, but then there was a hard scratch and it stopped.
Homer inhaled sharply and disappointedly. Coda felt his irritation and whimpered, coiling its plump, red, hairless, warm body about his shins.
Homer looked down at his pet sadly through the window of his protect
