Description

Here is a recreation of one of Tuymans' best works. Gas Chamber was originally made with oil paints on canvas using a weak, transparent, palette of colors to give a sign of hesitance to the viewer. This version uses Acrylic paints, but painted in the same manner as Mr Tuymans, such as the fast, fleeting strokes of color. My interpretation of this piece is the chamber's soft, diluted visuals, represents the memory fading, like Tuymans' wanted to forget about what he saw there.
