Description This photo shows a street near Willich (Viersen/Krefeld) in the Region of Germany that is called "Niederrhein"...
I took this when I came back from a weekend at my boyfriend's today at about 7.50 am.
It was very foggy, so that it was not easy to drive because the windows were totally steamed up.
But after some minutes the sun came out and I saw this beautiful dawn.

Hope you enjoy the view, too!
Not much changed in Photoshop. Just cropping, level adjustment and the frame...
I will take part in ©Subversive-imaginati 's "Fall"-Contest with it.

Camera: Canon EOS 300D
Lens: Canon Kit-Lens EF-S 18-55 mm
Focal Lenght: 47 mm
Exposure Time: 1/1600 sec.
Shutter: f/11

//EDIT: Submited a slightly fixed version...
Now the colours are a bit better, the signature is fixed and the disturbing reflexes of the sun were retouched.

//EDIT2: Now submitted this photo also with a black frame... It's "Break of Dawn - Black Edition" . Which one do you like better? Should the black one stay in Scraps?

*Grins* ... den Vergleich finf ich gut...
Naja, es ist irgendein Feld, außerdem am Niederrhein - daher das platte Land!
Trotzdem Danke schön

i really like this one, i love the mist and the flat ground the appears to be farm land

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MrsMorzarella In reply to magikhobo [2005-09-28 11:20:57 +0000 UTC]

You're right. It is farm land - It's a harvest but with nothing growing because it's fall.

definitely the white border! it looks so surreal, like a glimpse into another world really, not quite tangible...
my best friend has just moved over to Germany for work and i just hope that he gets to see things as beautiful as this

Thanks for the nice comment!
Did your friend move from South Africa? If yes, then he'll really feel cold the first time, but i can assure you that the landscape here is beautiful. Just in other ways as in Africa or perhaps in the Carribean Sea, but it has its own rural/patoral beauty ... if you get up at six a.m

MarisaSteyn In reply to MrsMorzarella [2005-09-28 06:24:17 +0000 UTC]

yup he moved from South Africa but he's been over there before as he has a lot of family there. he's a first generation South African-German as both his parents immigrated from Germany to South Africa. Germany does look lovely though so I hope I'll get a chance to go visit him sometime

MrsMorzarella In reply to MarisaSteyn [2005-09-28 11:20:30 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I think many people move there... So my uncle moved to SA some time ago...
He first worked on Haiiti then in Nigeria and Kenia abnd now I think he's in Tansania.

MrsMorzarella In reply to MarisaSteyn [2005-09-28 11:48:45 +0000 UTC]

Yes, perhaps... He does it with work, because he's in a building firm...
But for my cousin and my aunt it's really hard... they split up and got divorced becuase he was only here in the holidays.

yeah... i can see that it would be difficult when you have a family... very stressful... but i think it would be great for a while if you're young and single

Wow, amazing. Hardly looks like a photo, more like a painting or something. I love the etheral feel to it. Beautiful shot, I think the white border adds more to it than the black.

Me, too... Normally...
When I go to school by bike at 7 am I always think "Why didn't you take your camera with you???" but I'm too lazy...
It's just too big and I have not the time to stay and take some photos because I must hurry up to arrive...
