How to create proper proton stream effects from the movie Ghostbusters.

This is my first photoshop tutorial, so I don't know how informative it will really be. The effect is relatively simple so new users should be able to follow along pretty easily. As for its usefulness, well if you need to make a proton beam then this is definately the way to do it. Write what you know they say. Later on I'll write a tutorial on how to make moveing streams useing a small amount of 3d software, and mostly Adobe Aftereffects.

There are probably a lot of spelling and gramatical errors, Photoshop doesn't have spell check after all and this took a long time and I'm tired. I don't care, and you shouldn't either. Let me know what you think of the tutorial...

It's a semi large file by the way, over 8 megs. Just so you 56k'ers know ahead of time.
