Description Yeah. He passed away on Monday age 82. He had a good run i guess, but a nation still morns the loss of one of, if not THE greatest fantasy artist of the 20th century.

Perhaps I'm not as sad as i could be. He just seems so immortal to me that my head hasn't quite clicked to the idea yet. Nevertheless most think he isn't dead because the huge influence that he has had on the fantasy genre means his legacy will outlive many of our lifetimes as we know it, and for that i raise a toast.

This one was doodled yesterday while on the bus, and painted. Frank has done countless work over the decades to numerous fantasy \ movie franchises (such as Conan). I decided to go for the Jaguar God. I also wanted to try and avoid a trademark pose that Frank would have for these kind of characters. My idea for this particular was to neither make him look sad or happy. Maybe a bit of a bittersweet mood here. Basically this was the same kind of mood i was in when painting it; meditative on the fact that Frank has gone but content, if not happy, that a new journey begins for us all.

Rest in Piece Frank. Your spirit stands the test of time even if the flesh gives up the ghost.

Done on A5 paper, with watercolours and markers. Was listening to Mithras - Gods among men, and the Conan the Barbarian OST for extra mood.

Jaguar God if I recall correctly. A similar but different character to the Wolf guy(more or less a reskin if you will).

It's staggering that you managed to cram this all onto an A5 sheet. The colours are extremely vibrant and more importantly this is a great tribute to Frazetta.
