Time Travel is rife with logic problems. So much so that time travel stories make me mutter.
At best, you';d create a parallel or divergent time line in which Douglas Adams did NOT die, and ours will remain unchanged.

I remember reading one of his books and I was laughing my ass off at the obscure humour.
I had no idea he died, my friend just lent me a book and told me nothing about him.
