This picture could be the beginning of a "Power Girl Gets Captured" story. Power Girl, while on patrol, is flying over New York City when she spots a missile heading for the Empire State Building. Power Girl: "That missile is going to hit the Empire State Building! I can't let that happen!" With a burst of super speed, Power Girl intercepts the missile but the resulting explosion releases a green colored gas that Power Girl recognizes immediately. Power Girl: "Cough! Cough! I've...been tricked...! Kryptonite gas...draining...my powers...!" Power Girl falls to the ground below so hard that she's knocked unconcious; upon awakening, Power Girl finds herself chained to a chair and cannot escape. Power Girl: "Where am I...? Feel so weak...! No!!! These chains-they're made of Kryptonite!!!" Power Girl then notices that Lex Luthor is also in the room. Luthor: "Don't bother struggling, P.owerless Girl! The Kryptonite gas weakened you and the Kryptonite chains will keep you helpless!"
