I have actually shot here before; it’s the same block of land that has that wonderful boat house on it where I kind of looked like some form of extra terrestrial! Because the previous shoot had mainly settled around “the boat house” before, I decided to venture to a completely different part of the main house – I have to say, the whole building is absolutely breath taking! I think it was built in the late 1880s – when I grew up, I want to own TWO courtyards in my house!

I found a white dress in an op-shop around the corner from me, I always loved the simple elegance of a woman in a plain white dress, so I decided to try to work it into a shoot somehow. Needless to say I felt very “Monroe” during the entire shoot, but I have to admit – I had a lot of fun playing Monroe .

I do feel as though I should apologise for my hair at the moment; I know gross faded re-growth looks terrible but my hairdresser was booked out all of this week , but I also think this shoot wouldn’t have gone nearly so well if I had my usual bright cherry red hair! The necklace was the same one used in The Little Rusalka and Fluttering Napaeae , it’s a glass heart ~beroul gave me, it’s a little heavy sometime, but I absolutely love it, it looks so elegant!

I think this has got to be one of my favourite photos from this set; I really love the lighting effect; very light yet just as dark. Anyway, the title is one of my favourite songs at the moment(Hey Eugene by Pink Martini), my boyfriend introduced me to it when we first started dating, and since then I must have listened to it a billion times, whenever he’s away and I miss him its almost on a continual loop. Although it has no real affinity with my boyfriend, I really love the (very) strange lyrics it has!
