I'm 900km away from ~Valentich at the moment, I'm actually really missing him - although sometimes I can get a little testy around him, he really is my best friend and not being able to have coffee with him has really dragged out my days.To try to make myself feel better today, I took a self-portrait, I know this is really grainy, but I wanted that effect of raw loneliness. The fish is Chips from Lukiest Little Fish, when we bought her a friend we agreed that I take one fish and ~Valentich take the other – it’s a little silly, but we’re both sentimental about the fish, I suppose its like a small piece of our friendship we can both directly physically relate to.
Bah, I’m talking nonsense. The title is from the Blink 182 song of the same name – though I’m not really a fan I guess the words have meaning right now.
I’m going to go off in wallow in self-pity with deep cello music in the background – does anyone have a joke to cheer me up?

Thanks, yeah I had a hard time deciding whether or not to make it full B&W or leave a little colour. You're more then welcome to have a go with it in photoshop - I look forward to seeing what you come up with

I know how you feel... I miss my favourite model too... Not sure if she misses her freaky,bald, hairy, tattooed photographer but it would be nice if she misses me...
I know well about been far... I am always so far away... in the cold.

I was wondering about the "I wish you were here" stuff was on your artist comments, it always looked so sad, but sweet. Hows the snow? I have a 0.3% chance of seeing my own this year - its still higher then where I was livivng before lol

well heading to Rankin tomorrow... it was -60 most of the week... hope it will get warmer over the weekend.
We do not have much snow... it is desert here... but the few we have last a long time because of the cold temperature.

Okay, I get the emotion and most of the imagery. I've been away from people that I love too and I understand the power of silly talismans.
You are right about the grainy texture adding to the drama, and I love the fact you are in the gloom with all that sunshine only inches away. There's a lot of good story-telling here. The thing I don't quite get is what the dumb bell means...

Our friendship has been a 5 year rollercoaster. And It’s been a great ride.
