This picture came to me about 6 years ago while on a picnic with my grand-daughter on the banks of the Grand River by Caledonia Ontario. She was playing by the riverbank and I could see the little fairies playing amongst the leaves beside her. The characters are based on Linda Ravenscroft's characters as she is one of my favorite fantasy illustrators.
