This is a redraw of an old drawing I did in 2006 (see original below). I completely changed her wings because they did not match with her already angelic features. I went a little overboard with the brightness...LOL. I feel like she looks more like an angel than a fairy.It first began with changing her tattoos into glowing tattoos. Then it transitioned into glowy hair...and then the wings. I really love how this turned out. I'd say I have improved, although I feel like I should still be better than this. Maybe that's just the modest artist in me? I'm sure every artist feels this way.

Ooh it's so sweet to see the original one as well! She looks like a fallen/cursed fairy in the first one and now she's got her powers back. 
I love your take on the wings with this one! I'm a sucker for glowy/shiny stuff and they go so well with her soft color palette and tattoos. Even though there's plenty of shine and glow with this piece, they all go so well together.
Another thing is I really like the way you painted her hair. It looks so soft and shiny *u* And I like how you shaded her skin. The tones look on point and there's no part that is too bright or dark that clashes with the other parts of the piece.

A friend of mine told me to redraw the original and keep the same concept of black and white because it would make a cool poster of a "Light vs Dark". Her comparison was similar to yours!
I had the hardest time with her wings because I really like the original's wings but they just didn't match her overall look. I swear I spent HOURS trying to figure out what to make them look like...
Anyway, I'm now addicted to really glowy hair. Fu fu fu...
