"In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, I release your soul from this body of evil. May you find peace in the next world." And then it cuts away to a wide shot, because I won't torment the shippers enough to show him staking her.

When he was a boy, Trent saw his mother killed by vampires (a la Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter). Angry, but paralyzed by fear, Trent repressed the tragic memory. As he got older, he met Gwen and fell instantly in love. On the night he was to propose to her, he found that she had been turned. Heartbroken (and fueled by rage), Trent devotes himself to eradicating vampires from the face of the earth. Part of this is revenge, but part of this is hoping to find the vampire that turned Gwen (if a human has been turned by a vampire, killing the vampire that turned them will restore their humanity). However, Gwen may have been a vampire too long, for she doesn't have much desire to be human again.
Oh, and good picture.
