Basil is a brown rat, aka a common rat.

He was made with my Amino friend Qeffi's cat OC Bruno in mind (inspired by the character in Encanto). We agreed that Basil would become Bruno's pet. This is his theme song: www.youtube.com/watch?v=vm112M…
His name is chosen to match Bruno too. "Bruno" means "brown," as I found out, so I wanted something to mirror Bruno's green color scheme, the same way that "Bruno" mirrors Basil's browns.

I added a couple of new markings since his original art, namely the splotch on his right side and the mark on his wrist. I got as close to the original palette as I could, but since I no longer have the flat version of it I can only hope that these are as close as the look.
(I totally put his wrist mark on the wrong paw cuz now it contradicts his older art but I don't feel like editing all of those so this is how he is now rip)

I tried out a new style for the palette this time, and I really like it so I may try it some more. Also rat teeth aren't pretty so don't mind how the look on the palette X3

This was also a little bit of an experiment for my backgrounds, doing wood and lighting.
