I know Cathar's but they don't have tails for some reason. Whats with that?

That would be tough. Cathar were known for their fierce battle when angered and their cat-like reflexes. Add Jedi/Sith training to that and you have one nasty warrior.

Cathar? I have heard of them but they are not a species that is mentioned often. Think i may have heard of them in some of the books I have read.

I mostly remember them from the time of the Old Republic. There was a couple of Cathar in books during the Ulic Qel Droma and Exar Kun time. Another during the time of Revan during his/her attempt to take out Darth Malec.
Haven't seen or heard much about them since that time. Could have been wiped out by Palpatine and his anti alien purge.
