LORD’S PRAYER SONG
By Barbara Gail Bliss
(Sung to the tune of “Oh the Deep, Deep Love of Jesus”)
God, our Father, art in Heaven;
Blessed, hallowed be Thy Name.
May Thy kingdom come with power,
Change us to reflect the same.
Let us not conform to this world,*
Teach us, Lord, Thy perfect will.
May it be upon this old earth
As it is in Heaven still.
Give us, Lord, our daily manna;
Living Bread on which to feed.**
May we share it with our neighbor
And the stranger deep in need.
Forgive us, Lord, our great transgressions
Even as we, too, forgive.
Lead us not into temptation,
Free our souls that we may live.
May Thy mercy, new each morning,***
Give us to light to guide our way,
Til that final, glorious dawning
Breaks unto the perfect day.
For the Kingdom and the Glory
And the Power all are Thine;
Find our story in Your story
And Your deep, deep love divine.
Lord’s Prayer: Matthew 6:9-12
*Romans 12:2
**John 6:48 Jesus is the Bread of Life. Jesus nourishes us and calls us to generously share His nourishment with others.
