It happens in the myths they come from.

  

Loki is stupid and makes a bet that he can provide the gods with better gifts than a dwarf and the thing he bets is his head.

 

Loki's gifts are: Odin's magic spear that will never miss its mark, Frey's magic ship that can grow large enough to fit all the gods and when not needed shrink down to fit in his pocket, and he gives Thor's wife Sif not a wig made of gold but real golden hair.

 

The dwarf gives Frey a magic boar that can run on air and water that glows in the dark, Odin a magic ring that every ninth night eight others exactly like it drop from it, and to Thor he gave the hammer Mjölnir.

 

Because of Mjölnir the gods declared the dwarf to be the winner and had Loki's head on the chopping block when he said, "Wait! Only my Head was promised, if you can remove my head without touching my neck then go ahead." of cores they could not do this so instead settled with stitching his mouth shut and laughed as he ran from the hall screaming. The end.
