I agree! The design is the film's only saving grace! 8I

I once had an idea of a fanfiction piece where Yonggary reappears in modern times, and Pulgasari (the North Korean kaiju) shows up. But the thing is Yonggary attacks North Korea and Pulgasari attacks South Korea, then they travel both southwards and northwards afterwards, have a big epic kaiju fight at the North-South Border, with the military of both sides (which were chasing them and attacking them with little success) looking. Then when both monsters are weak, the two sides, weakened as well, decide to do a joint attack and beat the monsters together. After the ensuing fight, with again explosions and Mig-29 from the north and F-15s from the South fighting together, everything is over and Yonggary and Pulgasari lie dead. Then the story ends with a soldier carrying a child (which is the characters we see the story unfold from both the north and south sides of the plot), and the soldier says "let me help you find your family, how do they look like?" and the child answers "I don't know, everyone looks the same" the soldier then realizes that both South and North Koreans, with their uniforms torn to shreds and symbols covered with ashes, do indeed look the same... but I'm too lazy to write it I guess...

The Yongary suit is remarkably detailed, with four big spikes coming out of its tail, and a long ridge running along its back. The individual scales on its tail have been very carefully sculpted. Still, there's something wrong with the overall proportions of the costume, particularly when seen from the front, which make it always look like a man in a rubber suit. The monster's face has a goofy, almost canine expression, with a long tongue that wiggles when it roars. When Yongary breathes fire, you can see very clearly a nozzle at the back of its throat. Worst of all, the stuntman inside the suit is a lousy actor: Yongary ambles through the film with no real sense of menace at all

Wrong movie, thats Yonggary 1967, this is the 1999 version from Reptilian, or Yonggary 1999.
