Jesus, I'm scared of heights. This is an awesome perspective .

I'm usually fine with it. At this particular place though I swung way out from the wall and started slowly spinning in space. You will notice that I was not looking down

Scary stuff, mate. I wouldn't look down either, but than again, I wouldn't be there in the first place .

Try sitting at a hanging belay for a couple of hours without them

I no longer feel they are needed for leading, but for jugging and belaying they are a life saver.

crazy mate

unusual angle, tricky shot I guess!
Did you hang only with one arm, shooting with the other ?

(about technical stuff, if you still want some poor advice from me, i would have tried with a wider angle, probably. This would have made the scene even more awesome, increasing the distance of the ground

Thanks.

I am actually the climber in the picture. I think that it was my friend Axel that took the picture.

A wide angle would definitely have been nice, especially if he could have gotten closer to me so I stayed the same size while the ground was further away. When you are climbing though you have the choice between bringing a nice camera that you will seldom have with you (because you can't carry it when you are climbing), or a point and shoot that can always be in your pocket. In this photo Axel just had a point and shoot, and he was tied into an anchor, so I don't think he had many options.

I understand, crazy conditions and the shot came out pretty well
you seem to be a pretty good climber, by the way!

I'm alright because I've been doing it a fairly long time (it used to be all I could think about), but there are a lot of people who have taken it to whole different levels than I have!
