Soooo.... I just bought Metal Gear Solid 2 the other day. I have never.... EVER played the metal gear solid series at all. I knew all about it. I knew what happened in each game, but for not one instance did I ever pick it up. Why? Well, I'm not sure... I had this thought in my head that I wasn't hard core enough to play the games. I don't know. It didn't seem like stealth missions were my bag. I'm kind of a hack and slash sort of girl, but I saw MGS2 for just 4.99. It was actuall substance... I was lucky with that buy, but it was still MGS2. Either way... I have FALLEN IN LOVE with it. Even though MGS2 was technically not as popular due to the fact you play as Raiden for most of the game, I still love it already. I just got past Fat Man... lol. What a boss fight. I almost didn't get rid of all the bombs, but I found em'.Love Snake as agent Plisken. He doesn't work well undercover... XD. I loved playing as him on the Tanker. Crawling through all those navy seals neraly gave me a heart attack. I thought one of them would hear me for sure. I remember the part where they are starting to do drills, and they all did the "I SPOT SOMEONE!" noise; I thought they saw me and I was like, "HOLY CRAP! HOLY SH-T! I'M DEAD!"
LoL... I'm still having a great time with it. I haven't beaten in yet, but college comes first. Anyway, I was board today and in my art class I drew some random MGS sketches. Most of them are from MGS4. I got finished with watching all the cutscenes on youtube. A very emotional story... it was fun seeing Raiden as a kick butt kind of guy, rather than this dude who's never been debreifed. lol.
and wow... old snake... everytime I saw him hold his back, I commented that, "I'm too old for this."
Anyway... I'm done now.
MGS belongs to Konami... and that other dude's name who I can't spell.

YES. LINDSEY, YOU ARE NOW MY FAVORITE PERSON EVER. Substance is the "Oh, now we're going to add a dash of AWESOME to your already badass game" version of MGS2
The tanker is so.... memorable lol, especially the easter eggs you can get there, like making all the soldiers dressed in nothing but t-shirts and boxers, and making the projectors display frolicking women in bikinis instead of the commander's speech. It's hilarious
Raiden's transformation and redemtion in MGS 2 and 4 is honestly one of the greatest storylines ever. I'm not gonna spoil anything in the story, but it has to deal with the fact that not everything in his life is totally black and white
Oh, and Ninja Raiden freaking ROCKS.

I felt the same, but I did quite well with the games 
The games are not really my type of game, but I love the storylines and characters.

I, personally, absolutely love the MGS games and all the characters (yes, including Raiden. I liked him before he was cool XD)and everything. The games themselves are not usually too hard (though you can back yourself into a corner and really screw yourself over), at least not until you try the harder difficulties. X.x I'm stuck trying to get the Big Boss rank on MGS2.
You might enjoy her comics. I suggest giving them all a read.
