All I can say is, wow! O_O I was immediately captured by this when I saw it, I love how you've twisted his design a little into your own version, especially the hair, it looks more realistic and does suit him! 
The shading is also really nice, makes him seem more dramatic, and those red diamonds really pop against the blue background, sorry I love pointing out all the little details that make me love a picture XD I guess it's my art passion talking again!
Also, if you don't mind me asking, what is this 'The Last Cycle' thing?
