Soooo. I drew a roadkill deer last night.I have a whole folder of pictures of roadkill lmao. Special secret for you guys.

Don't look at it if you don't like seeing dead, rotting things.
I love animals. It's just fun seeing them as a sort of.. Different subject matter.

I hope you don't mind me dropping a comment, but I really wanted to. Something about this piece seriously drew me in. @_@ I know this is a speedpaint, but I feel like I have a lot to say about it.
First of all, I love the way you took this and blotched in colors to give it this sort of .. abstract take on a common idea, or rather a not-so-common idea, since you don't see many paintings of this sort (though I wish there were more, because sometimes roadkill animals can be an art in themselves.) I also like the way you painted in some of the colors roughly, while others more solid. It gives a feeling of unease and disturbance on a smoother background which suggests the calmness. And finally, I like how you painted in the flies so that they almost look like little imperfections.
Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but I just really like this style of painting you've done. OuO

There is something beautiful and melancholy about rotting animals, perhaps due to some of the innocence surrounding them. There is such a haunting presence to them so I can very easily understand snapping shots of roadkill. The reference photo is great and you did a nice job with this. The style is very interesting as well. I really like how you did all the little flies. Well done.

I think I might do a series of speedpaints of roadkill. It was a really enjoyable subject for me haha.
I also liked taking this new approach to drawing in a more painterly style.
I usually get too focused on detail too quickly and it takes away from the overall composition and flow.
