Description This was originally painted by John Constable, who is quite probably the best British landscape artist of all time. He once said "All originality in art comes from nature" which I think goes some way towards explaining the meticulousness of his work and the beauty he captures.

Anyway this painting is probably my best to date and I'm stoked whenever I look at it. A lot of people initially think its a print but it's not - if you don't beleive me then look at the top left hand corner of the peice and compare the style to that further right and down. In the top left corner, I was only starting to get to grips with Constable's style, so that corner blows......

Enjoy!

Now that's commitment! Over a hundred hours... You should be proud, copies can be hard- and you've done so well

i thought i recognized this! it's a nice painting and i think you've done it justice. from a distance it looks REALLY nice. i like the light coming through that tree in the center a lot. i guess my only bit of advice would be to maybe try a broader stroke every now and then. it seems like you're treating everything in a somewhat similar way. the rough texture you're getting in the water works wonderfully in some spots, but it'd be even better if there were some really smooth open areas as well, to offset the more gritty parts, you know?
anyway, overall i think it's quite strong. i'm impressed
