Hijab refers to both the head covering traditionally worn by Muslim women and modest Muslim styles of dress in general.

The Arabic word literally means curtain or cover. Hijab is given the wider meaning of modesty, privacy, and morality.

Oh. So this wallpaper is saying that it's a woman's choice whether or not to wear it? Is it typically a problem that women are forced to wear it in some nations? Or to not wear it?

Well what the wallpaper is saying is that she should't be shunned for what she believes in. If she whats to where Hijab there should not be a law against it. I mean it is just a peace of cloth right? who's it gonna hurt?
Now in some Muslim countries it is law that they wear it out in public and that they don't show their bodies or hair because it could be a fitnah for those around her, and in some countries she is actually made not to wear it which is a problem for her if she wants to wear it. In USA (which I live) you have the choice whether you want to where it or not, everything is up to you. But at the same time people here are ignorant as to want Hijab means and I have personally been harassed by people for wearing it, I'v even had people throw things at me and tell be to stop wearing rags(terrorism by US citizens). And most people who live in the Muslim countries know exactly what Hijab means (after all they are Muslim) and they have no problem with wearing it.

Huh.

I'm in the US too (MI, specifically), and have seen a few women wearing it on my campus. I could tell it was something iconically Islamic, but have never known the significance of it. Never have seen any of the women wearing them be harassed. Then again, it's a college campus, and colleges tend to be a bit more liberal in their feelings towards other religions.
