a lot of you guys have asked how i paint and since i rarely show the initial sketches i thought to put this up. The process i use is still quite similar to this muju.deviantart.com/art/Samus-… and i always start from a lineart sketch, i can start from flat colours but its easier for me to read the piece if i start from lineart.

usually if something is going to be painted up, my lineart is really really messy like here. I find if i can work a lot looser it helps a lot when i start painting. I don't actually do like black and white values first cause i'm lazy but i would recommend it cause if you get your values right colours are real easy after that.

After i'm okay with the sketch then its the flat colours and then i merge layers. Generally i leave the background on a separate layer but sometimes i get confused and lazy and accidentally merge it. When i have better internet i'll do a livestream again so you can better see what i mean.
