This is something I was supposed to do for a school project last year. I didn't get time to finish it properly, though, because of a teacher strike. Nevertheless, here it is. A little late, but whatever.

It was supposed to be a cover page for chapter 12 of a book called Kampen om Speilet (The Battle for the Mirror in English), which is one of my favourite books. The event depicted in this cover (slight spoilers ahead) is when a huge black ball arrives on the island where the story takes place, Allefall, containing the villain's evil army. The guy in the front is just called The Neighbour (no other name is given), and had a dream telling him it was really important that he made a hole in the ball, not telling him why. So he sets to work, and makes first a splinter, then a pointy stick, and finally a battering ram to open the ball, and every time he has finished something he thought would work, he looks at the ball and it seems way too big for it and makes something bigger. The battering ram worked, though.

The whole thing is sort of quick, because of the teacher strike. I used Photoshop, which I have at school but not at home, so I couldn't finish it during the strike and only had a few days afterwards it to get it done.
