I'm very very happy with this.This is essentially a remake of this picture [link]
I've been sketching this character for a while. I'd never really gone back to look at the original picture and it's weird how much she's changed when I thought I was drawing her the same. I dunno if she's cuter or just more generic.
She doesn't even have a name yet, but I have a certain feeling and set of ideas that I'm working around that will hopefully evolve into some kind of story for her to star in soon.

Wow... as a fan of the Netflix series, it feels so weird and yet so enchanting to see where our beloved Hilda started out. Even though I have already been aspiring to draw my own comics, this just inspires me to do so even more, as does the Hilda franchise in general, as now I can see that it doesn’t take corporate greed to produce good story and characters, but rather a passionate soul with heart and patience, who’s willing to go the extra mile to spend years perfecting their craft.
So kudos to you, Mr. Pearson, and thank you 10 billion times for creating this wonderful masterpiece of a graphic novel series that directly inspired what is now my favourite animated series of all time. This is definitely a sign that I need to get working on my own comics, as I know I have the ideas ready, and I just need to put them to paper.
Here’s to more fantastic graphic novels and a brilliant second season!

This is awesome! The muted colors are really cool, and I'm totally imagining a story that has her starting in this scene, and she's like "My name is *whateverhernameis*... and this is MY LIFE"

I'm working on a big piece featuring her right now. She's actually living in a little house out in the wilderness at the minute though, she's gonna move into town later on.

Now this is looking good! You've pushed the architecture and there's a sense of being lived in more than the original.
I've gotta say that the character and setting are intruiging and I'd love to see something done with them. Kinda draws you in and makes you want to see how people in a place like that live.

Yeah, it's something I've been gently and slowly 'sort-of-developing' for a long time. I need to really sit down and flesh it out properly, but I have ideas. I think something really cool will come out of it eventually.

Haha! I like all of the strange creatures you have dotted around, it reminds me of my childhood love of the Moomins. The busy style you've got going works wonderfully and I love the girls expression and design.

One heck of a remake!
I really love it, especially how there's kind of a contrast in the picture itself and the way you pulled the picture off.
The great amount of details and the wide variety of colours used kind of makes your eyes zip around the entire piece and not really come to rest... and yet, the colours are so moody, calm, subdued, quiet. It's really quite the weird combination, but works wonderfully.
