In the far future of Rain World’s timeline, Eight Gems is lonelier than ever before. Ichika has long passed on, and visits from Slugcats are few and far between. Their can is slowly degrading as well, now having a hole in the roof of their chamber, leaving them exposed to the blizzard outside.

However, not all is so bad. They’ve found a friend in a small, fluffy Slugcat named Snowbell, who regularly visits the Iterator to keep them company.

This is what I was hinting at in Snowbell’s introduction. Snowbell has become a companion to Eight Gems in the far future. I’ve had this part of Eight Gems’ story thought out for a while, but I just felt really bad for them, having lost Ichika, their ability to contact other Iterators, and the regular visits from Slugcats, just becoming completely isolated. The moment I adopted Snowbell, I knew what their purpose would be.
