Mother: An Air Shinlai, sweet, caring, and a worrywart. Kirito’s mother took great strides in helping him train within their element, tutoring him endlessly til he actually started to whine. Her training may have been harsh but her love was all the more bountiful by the end of a hard day’s training. Keeping him properly groomed and well presented while amongst humans and other Shinlai.

Cousin: Icarus. They actually have not had any contact with each other since they were pups. All Kirito remembers of him is that they are in fact related.

He is rather fond of simply manipulating the air more than any other ability he might have through his element. It is more useful to him as he tends to spend his times at the Norport docks providing favorable winds and calm breezes for the other residents. With such a simple ability he often gets to take “joy rides” on fisherman boats to whisk air into the sails. Due to such simple manipulation Kirito acquires very little to no taxation on his body from using his element, though he knows full well such an element has less of an impact on him than the others.

Kirito was born with a heart of gold he takes great strides to reach out to anyone. Regardless of allegiance, gender, race, or age he will be there if need be. However, this shows his extremely large amount of ignorance and naivety with the world because he believes if you are friendly to others then they will reflect the same kindness.

He avoids conflicts as much as possible. He finds violence crude and doesn’t wish for anyone he knows to be injured. And since he generally tries to make friends with anyone who lives or passed through Norport, he will always act as a peacekeeper. His smaller stature in comparison to average Shinlai makes him believe he is not suited for any type of combat, as such he tries to talk out problems and find a suitable equivalent solution.

Having settled in Norport, Kirito is constantly surrounded by the busy body day-to-day lives of the townsfolk and other Shinlai who reside within it. The constant exposure to socialization and opportunities to learn makes Kirito very happy. He loves nothing more than constant activity and positive relations with others.

Kirito is not one to hold grudges or get angry easily it takes significant amount of pushing to get him angry or pushed over the edge about something. But when it happens his elemental control seems to waver as the winds will pick up and start causing a ruckus. Which in such an instance a simple kind gesture such as a nuzzle, lick, hug, or gentle petting will melt away his anger.

Diet
He is an omnivore, though he takes the opportunity to indulge himself with the abundant influx of fish. Working for fisherman to earn his “treats” he is also given food by their wives and eats just about anything if put in front of him(even if a child were to hand him something he would eat it). His pallet isn’t picky about what to eat, however, due to his high energy gaining weight doesn’t appear to be an issue nor will it. He is not a big hunter and Norport being a port town you won’t find him hunting in the tropical forests, taiga, or grasslands that surround the town. Some of his favorite foods consist of smoked trout, mahi-mahi, squid, and the most delectable in his opinion is sword fish, however any fish will do.

Location
Kirito has lived in West Rendali’s Zenith region his whole life. Originally growing up he and his parents lived in Gratus, a city surrounded by deciduous forests which gradually meld into taiga. At the age of 21 Kiri decided it was time to branch away and move someplace on his own. Knowing full well leaving would mean communication with his parents would be slim to none due to West Rendali’s terrain he said his farewells.

Trekking across the Zenith region he found himself in Norport. A city by the inland coast and on the cusp of Dusty Canyon, the town was also surrounded tropical forests, taiga, and grasslands. Norport is an import town, constantly receiving and shipping goods between regions. Seeing this as a rare opportunity he made a life with the humans of Norport. There are not many Shinlai residing in Norport compared to humans.
Kirito loves the coast, he hopes to never have to leave Norport or its kind people. The civilians often treat him to his favorite foods, fish, and enjoy his company. He also welcomes anyone who might be passing through or coming for a visit as he is well socialized and loves to meet any new face regardless of allegiance even though he himself is a believer in Daila. He believes a strong social structure makes for happier living in any location.

Mask
Kirito was masked by the age of 19 with admirable agility skills. Even though his mother trained him intensely to other skills within their element, Kirito passed due to his flawless wind manipulation and immense speed. Regardless of his academics his parents, friends, and family were all proud of his achievement.

His mask is made from condensed wood from an old ship mast and dyed its deep green. Originally this was all the mask’s color was until he branched away from his loving parents and found himself in Norport where the local sailors and fishermen then painted the racer yellow to jokingly have the appearance of a brightly painted boat. Having taken an honored liking to having his mask painted Kirito has kept the color since. However, due to the constant sea spray from the coast/bay he must have it repainted every so often as the sea salt causes the yellow paint to ware and chip away.

The top of the horn on his mask is a graded yellow-orange due to the sun’s constant contact with the paint altering its color.

They were overjoyed when they found he was capable of manipulating air, it being such a recessive gene it was a great shock that he was one (his mother was also an Air Shinlai). Careful to train him wisely but still seem to be loving parents they took their time training Kirito. His father would often made trips into Garatus , seeing how they lived just outside in the deciduous forest, he would bring Kirito along to help open his eyes to the human race and their social structures. Teaching him that humans are creatures you can trust along with the nature of their world (he was an Earth Shinlai). Believing a strong social connection with others helps build a path to a stronger and more united future without unneeded conflict. Such a belief Kirito still carries with him today.

He expected no less however as he continued his journey he happened upon a couple small settled villages. One unfortunately didn’t turn out to be so kind and chased Kirito out of their land and sent him back into the deciduous forests. He traveled cautiously for about a year and a half before coming across Dusty Canyon which from there he continued southeast.

After Dusty Canyon Kirito found the port town of Norport, it chimed with all kinds of noise. From social chatter of humans, to the laughter of children, and the gentle crash of waves and caws of birds it seemed like a town right from a story book for Kirito. There were not many Shinlai residing in the town but whatever ones were they welcomed him enthusiastically which brought so much joy to his heart. He had met a few Shinlai and even humans along his travels but they didn’t seem quite as friendly, but the warm welcome brought by the Shinlai soon followed by the humans. It was then he remembered his father’s teachings and he decided he would stay.

Over the years of inhabiting Norport Kirito has gotten to know every person and lives a busy day-to-day life just as they all do. He works along the docks with the fishermen, after living there for so long he has grown quite the addiction to having a constant diet of fish. He helps bring favorable winds and calm breezes for the other residents. Working for the fishermen Kirito has actually made a strong bond with one in particular. A younger man who has a wife and two children which Kirito adores and lets them play around his paws and lets them ride on his back. Though he’s friendly to everyone even people/Shinlai passing through and other merchants who come through to trade and sell their goods.

He’s become very accustomed to such a busy body way of living and can’t imagine a day he won’t be able to do it. Kirito is very fond of the consistent weather Norport brings it suits him as he has short fur that doesn’t provide him much warmth when winter comes through. Norport provides a comfortable warm temperature and generally stays sunny with minimal storms despite its coastal location.

Norport is a prime merchant town for traveling merchants. As such Kirito often gets to meet new people and Shinlai of all shapes and sizes. One Shinlai he’s met through merchant trades is Silke, a friendly girl she was adopted into the merchant lifestyle after a hard start to life. Kirito hopes to meet both Shinlai again and provide aid for their services as much as possible.

Childhood
As a pup Kirito was rather frail his immune system was rather weak due to his short fur. He could not play in winter with any other pups because his parents feared he might fall ill and not make it through the winter. Though frail, Kirito still wished to play and act as any energetic Shinlai pup during warmer seasons his father would often take time to play with Kiri until his little heart was content. Under close super vision and constant careful exposure to others Kirito’s immune system began to build until he was well enough to handle himself.

Like all creatures born with paw pads, his pads were a soft dark velvet purple which gradually toughened from the terrain and are now a dark charcoal black.
