I think the colours that are created in this piece, along with the smoothness of the outline and the background, create something that's truly very beautiful.
Though I think this is a great picture, there are some things that I notice that are worth mentioning.
Some of the proportions are a bit off. With the realism of the folds in the clothing and the gears, the proportions that are not as realistic stick out a lot.
The only things that I really notice, though I wouldn't necessarily call it "bothersome", are the proportions of her face, shoulders, and chest. Her head is oddly shaped and a little too small. The way it is tilted makes it look like there is absolutely no neck, which makes her shoulders seem far too big with her head in comparison. In addition to this sizing, her breasts seem far too big in comparison to her head. If you altered the shape of her head, etc., then the breasts, though large, wouldn't seem to out of place.
Otherwise, the colours are amazing, and the way you did the background, and her clothing, is superb.

This is a nicely coloured picture. the red eyes are standing out nicely against the whole tone of the picture. lighting is just a tad bit wonky though, since so much of the light is coming from the back, her chest and most of her face shouldn't be lighting up like that technically.
Just a few anatomic problems i'd like to point out: the connection of her right forearm and wrist is not done correctly. the hand should be in front of the forearm, especially because you can see so much of the back of the hand. the upper part of that arm is also a little too bent, making it look like her bone is bending. the hand is also a bit wonky, looks very lanky compared to the rest of her body. the angles of her bones are poking out too much in her hand.
these are the major problems that jumps at me. other are very minuscule.
overall, it's pretty well done. congrats =3

It seems like, while it's not technically accurate, the face being lit-up serves as a device to draw attention to that area as a focal point here. The eyes' striking nature would recede if here face was reverted to neutral tones--yet it could work if you darkened just the left (camera left) side of her face and had light reflecting off her hand or something to hit the (camera right) side of her face. Without at least that much, the bright tones in the background coming in from the window would dominate the picture and it would lose its intimacy and some of its striking power.

i don't know, sometimes i find the behind-lightings pretty powerful when done well. of course, it's a lot more technically challenging and could look bad if one messes up....~~ but that was what looked better in my head xDD

Front lighting can achieve a similar effect, but then the colours would seem washed out as they'd have no value (if done realistically as if there were a flash in front). I think more contrast would have made a moody piece. Hmm, nice idea indeed.

true, there could have been a front lighting. but i find that a focused light at the back creates a more dynamic setting, and it's also a challenge to painting, for sure =3~ that was a bit of my oppinion on lighting mixed in with the critique x3

I really love how well you did this illustration of Lilith!
First of all, I especially like how well you did the pretty dress that she's wearing as well as the folds on the bottom of her cloth. You painted her gorgeous hair really beautifully too, because of the highlighting. As for her face, I really love how you did her reddish eyes.
Secondly, her did the posing of her arms as well as her anatomical proportions really well. I love how well you did the shading on her too.

It's amazing... how many people use this as a name for their characters. Myself included. XD Not only is this a great piece of art, this is just about how I envisioned a character in one of my stories, who also happens to be named Lilith.
