Personality:
· Cheerful and peppy
Usually seen to be smiling, even under inappropriate circumstances. Very optimistic and will try to find the positives in everything and spread it around.
· Childish and playful
Gets along unusually well with children under the age of 12. Loves pranks and various silly behaviors that makes most question whether or not he is actually a figure of authority.
· Outgoing and social
Enjoys group gatherings. Talkative and chatty, also loves harmless gossip. Will try to befriend or talk to anyone in the vicinity. However, doesn’t like to talk about his own problems.
· Helpful and nosy
Peace-making, and very dutiful in this regard. Also needs to know all sides of the situation to make a correct judgment or give advice. Will attempt to alleviate anyone’s problems, no matter how small or trivial. Often very self-blaming if plans don’t work out.
· Persistent and annoying
Will go at pretty extreme and/or childish lengths to be helpful; will bother and question extensively to get what he needs and won’t leave anyone alone until the problem is resolved.
· Sensitive but well-tempered

The young, too kind, too sensitive, crybaby Rusei found consolation from the harsh reality of forest nature in a friendly hiker Nosepass who took him in almost as his own son and gave him a normal childhood. At school, he wanted to save the happiness of his fellow peers from the big bad bullies and so took the hit for them instead. He held back tears and put up a happy and jolly front but returned to the fatherly Nosepass to deal with his situations. Soon he felt burdensome to his guardian and spread his expression of misery between the Nosepass and through song, and from there birthed his dream to become a singer. The Nosepass granted him on his 14th birthday an opportunity to sing on stage, but he blew it for an unknown reason (see trivia, bullet 3) and suffered from a relapse of torment from the same bullies for it. Later, a nearby forest fire had spread and burned down their house. Both were safe, and took refuge in a friendly neighbor’s, where Rusei discovered the truth behind the Nosepass’s kindness, which was that Rusei reminded him of himself, a happy child who helps others by hurting himself. The Nosepass had given up his dream to travel the world when he decided to care for Rusei until Rusei found true happiness, but Rusei discovered this secret. And so, as an anniversary gift, Rusei relieved the Nosepass of his caring duties so that he could finally accomplish his dream. Rusei remained at the neighbor’s house until he finished school, after which his life got much happier – the bullies all left for Crag to show off their muscles – and he decided then to move out, take on the role of Keeper and a job at a daycare while still pursuing his own dream of becoming a professional singer.

- Tries to keep secrets but is awful at it and has to make an extreme effort to just to be remotely able to contain them.
- Has absolutely no sense of direction. It’s amazing he can find his way home every night.
- Needs a lot of sleep. When sleep hour quota isn’t reached, becomes really sluggish and mumbles.
- Also has a pretty weak immune system. When sick, needs even more sleep than usual.
- Is vegetarian.
- Keeps his hair long partly because the little girls at the daycare like to play with it.
- Uses L’oréal. Because he’s worth it.
- Is a serial nicknamer; really bad with names and doesn’t want to put in effort to learn them.
- Is ambidextrous.
- Right eye sees slightly better than left. Has glasses to correct this but would rather not wear them. Irritates his nose bridge.
- Also scared of putting in contacts.
- Cannot work a hammer. Keeps hitting his own fingers.
- Great at cooking and sewing, but doesn’t like to do either. Will make exceptions for the kids at the daycare or Yashar.
- Calls his house a treehouse. It’s not.
- Used to have freckles but grew out of them.
- Also used to have large ears but grew into them.
- Needs something to hug when sleeping.
