Yeah, I was totally impressed! Reptile and Scorpion are my two favorite characters from the game, and they made them the coolest for the movie! I'm interested to see what they do with Sub-Zero, too.

Totally! I look forward to seeing what they do with the other characters--I assume there will be a lot more in it than just the ones from the trailer. I have a feeling Liu Kang and Kano would fit pretty well in that storyline...

you mean the game now? and not the stupid movie trailer? i hate that movie i hope it never comes out and was just a pitch but yeah the games version of the ninjas is always cool apart from Reptiles i think they mess him up sometimes being an actual Reptile LOL

Oh, yeah, I meant the movie trailer! You think it looks dumb? I know it reeks of the that whole "re-imagining" thing that seems to be infecting every property nowadays, but I thought it looked interesting.
I haven't seen anything yet on the new game. I actually got kind of bored with the MK games--I didn't like the changes they made way back with MK 3, and it took until they went 3D for me to get interested again. I think Deception's the last one I played--or maybe it was the one after that. It had that chess game in it, and I remember Scorpion being a badass character for that game!
But yeah, I hated what they did with Reptile in those older games. He was much better as a ninja than the goofy dinosaur they turned him into.

Wow, that does look pretty cool! I like the return to the more 2D fighting system, and the X-ray attacks are a nice touch. Overall it looks a lot like the ones before it, though--Midway seems to kinda stick to a lot of the same old stuff, but hopefully with the new ideas they've added and the throwback style it'll be a good formula. Glad to see that Reptile is mostly human, only a little Godzilla.
Yeah, but I guess if they do make that movie it can't be any worse than the movies they already made!

lol yeah the movies are terrible.. i think coz Midway went bankrupt they needed to keep MK as it still kinda got a big fanbase so i reckon there just trying to make it like the older ones coz the new MK games are pretty bad to me the only 3D one i liked was Deadly Alliance..

Yeah, you're probably right. DC didn't do very well. 
I'd actually hope for a simpler take on it altogether--maybe go back to their classic costumes. The way they look now seems kind of over-worked; like every square inch of them is brimming with armor and crazy detail. It's not really necessary if the game is fun to play!

lol yeah i like the simpler ones the best, well arent all fighting games the same really? theres not really much you can do like with Tekken to me thats just like playing Tekken 3 over and over with better graphics lol..

Yeah, I guess that's true! The main thing you can do for a fighting game is add new characters--unless you're Street Fighter III and you replace ALL the characters!
Anyway, to me, MK would do best to just simplify rather than try to add more and more. Though the things they're adding this time seem to fit well, so we'll see!

Well, he's one of the characters they've managed NOT to screw up over the years, luckily. Aside from an over-designed costume, I suppose. But that's still better than being a big dumb lizard!
