Hargrid produces his own field of joy and gladness. Albus just accepts this, though he can find it trying at times. Aberforth thinks Hagrid is strange, but he is a good customer and means well. Snape wishes he was anywhere else. Filch...has either been crushed or successfully escaped.Well. I drew some people for the first time in this one. At least close up. ANYHOW. "The Old Boys Club" is a term I have been using in my head for the adult males that I more imagine sticking around Hogwarts area all year round and have adventures or at least a few drinks together. They include the Brothers Dumbledore, Snape, Filch and Hagrid. Maybe when I am less crazy (NaNoWriMo!!!) I will provide some examples.
This was originally just a doodle to decide approximate comparative heights, so yeah, some things are a bit off. Whoopsie?

I can't see Snape wanting to spend any more time with his puppetmaster Albus than absolutely necessary, but he and Aberforth would probably get along all right. Severus isn't, however, an old boy. He's in his thirties: two generations younger than Hagrid, and at least three generations younger than the Dumbledore brothers.
Filch is another matter: he's the same age as Lucius Malfoy. He and Sev might well enjoy getting together off-campus for a few drinks and a lot of grousing about the annoying Headmaster and the filthy, dunderheaded brats.
And of course Albus has no idea how often Severus stops by his local pub in Cokeworth during the summer for some genuine muggle beer and a chance to catch Man U on the telly.

The whole idea stemmed from some headcanon of my own, so it really doesn't reflect the books at all.Β Just a bit of fluff-ery on my part.Β In my little delusions (which basically delete the whole last book), Albus is not a chess-master-jerk, they drag Snape along because they all know he has few friends (Lucius can only hang out with a Half-Muggle Slytherin so much if his reputation is to survive), and everyone begrudgingly enjoys each other's company.
*shrug* It was just a bit of fun, but I see what you are getting at.

Yup, he isn't really an old man but the others (read: Dumbledore, his boss, man who signs his paychecks) decided that he needs to "get out more" and thus he is dragged along to every pub-crawl that the Brothers Dumbledore can get away with. ;D

He is also a 30-something teacher during Albus' tenure as Headmaster. Which is still pretty young to be a member of an "Old Boys Club", I will grant you. I figure that Albus noticed that Snape NEVER GETS OUT and dragged him along. XD

Actually, a good deal of the time it is Hagrid getting drunk, and telling everyone else how much he loves them and how good they always have been to him and how they are his best friends in the whole world. *snurffle* XD
