Oh, and a dhampire is a half vampire/human. Meaning for him, mostly human, with some subtle supernatural abilities~

Welllll hmm, so I guess I'll start off with backstory.
Unlike the other characters, Jay doesn't have a last name. This is due in part to the fact he was born into a closed clan sort of lineage of witches (almost druidic people) who live on the fringes of society, often inside deep forests and are more of a legend than a known populace. They gain their magic through blood heritage, sacrifice and a coming of age ritual done when the child is about 12. This involves runes being magically inscribed/burned onto the participant in a ceremonial rite which is obviously intense and painful. After they have been fully initiated into the clan they may then receive a byname. However, Jay was born intersex, which lead to him being quite mistreated by the clan and so he was not at the physical or emotional strength his peers would have been, so when the ceremony started he was doing extremely badly and would likely not have made it. After only a few rows of runes had been made, Abyss happened upon the screams and ended up rescuing him, fleeing with him to the north where (after the fiasco with his first son) he basically dumped him with a circus. There he was mistreated, and acted mostly as a sideshow, or clown, and was again abused by the members of the troop, being malnourished and abused until, eventually, abyss came back. Through his few years there he did learn and enjoy acrobatics and contortionism, which were used when he was upgraded to a sideshow freak. When abyss helped him escape (for the second time), he wore his loose clown costume and mask, which he had grown attached to as basically his only real possessions. After that, he lived in Abyss's care in the forest and grew very strongly attached to him, thinking of his as a father, though Abyss tried to remain distant. Because of Abyss's being a vampire, Jay had to fend for himself mostly with eating human food, and with a lack of knowledge and scarcity, he continued to be malnourished which stunted his growth and he remained very skinny.
He's about 18 years old, 4'8", 70-ish lbs, gay, very high sing-songy squeaky voice, and his only "magic" ability is haveing fairly heightened perceptions, no spells or anything. His attitude is generally very positive, and he likes doing weird acrobatics/contortionism all the time, is bored easily, and likes humming not very melodic tunes to himself, which end up making him creepy by accident. He craves attention and affection, especially from Abyss, and later Katherine and Darian. he has no concept of boundaries and will crawl on/climb on/hug/curl up with people whenever he wants. Has a lot of anxiety, self-esteem issues and is easily hurt. Very clingy, jealous, over emotional but also generous, sweet, loyal and generally willing to help.
