I like how the contrast between pale skin, the blue of the upper eyelid and the red of eyes and nose give her a feeling of sickness and exhaustion. Also, hair are pretty! What do you use to make them?

thank you! im not quite sure what you mean though, but i draw in sai and i use whatever brushes, nothing specific, and theres no specific technique!

I mean, brushes and stuff; do you paint the base colors and then put lights/shadows on higher layers or do you just work on a single layer? I'm really noob at SAI right now.

i work on one layer! sometimes i make other layer to add something, but i always merge it down! i also havent downloaded any other brushes, i think? and i have a lot of them so switch between them, often unintentionally actually because theyre all names 'brush'
i start by filling in the base color for the skin and add details and shade, then go on to the hair and shade it! base color>shadows>lights
