Description So...I exaggerated when I said I have over thirty. I actually have over fifty - a large majority of them are in the 'Retirement home'. There are at least two dozen DBZ characters whose stories never made it past the first chapter. A set of five Ronin Warrior girls. And who knows how many forgotten girlfriends of shows that got canceled or I just plain stopped watching. But currently I have twenty three active fan characters - not including their children. This is going to take a while so let's get started:

Gundam Wing Girls: They were originally created back in 2000 when Toonami got Gundam Wing. Needless to say I loved the show and decided to create characters for it. Their original designs and story were retired somewhere in 2002. Last year I rewatched Gundam Wing and brought them out of retirement. Technically, they are my oldest active OC's.

Tac: Cat is my second oldest. Batman Beyond premeired in 1999 but it wasn't until 2001 when Toomani got the cartoon that I created a characters for it. Tac's story and looks haven't really changed over the years. He was my very first non-anime fan character.

Isis: I spent a summer watching my brother and my best friend play Ocarina of Time. Since my friend liked it so much I created a character that had her personality. Isis almost ended up in the Retirement home until my friend started playing OoT again. Honestly Legend of Zelda is one of those franchises that will always be around. Like Final Fantasy and Mario.

Andria: A character that has always been active, ever since I saw Treasure Planet for the first time all the way back in 2002. Her story had changed quite a bit but she was the first girl OC I created that people liked.

Mourishin: I though it was kind of sad that Jackie never got a real love interest in his cartoon - so I created one for him. It seemed so fitting to create a boyfriend instead of a girlfriend seeing how he lived in San Fransisco. LOL Mourishin took a short break but now he's back.

Max and Cassandra: Back when their story began there was three of them but one girl got scrapped when I revamped the story. Now Max and Cass are back and better than ever. Only thing is this time I forgot to give them Korean names

Colin: I started liking American comics in 2004 and CN premiered Justice League. I originally wanted to create someone for Batman but he's such a frosty box that whoever I paired him with would have been deemed a mary sue to break through his cold heart. So I created someone for Superman instead. Someone who truly needed him

Oliver: Got into the Marvel-verse and it was pretty awesome. I felt the need to create someone who would systematically throw a wrench into and already chaotic universe and thus Oliver was born to be wild

Johnna: After watching Cowboy Bebop for about the hundredth time I created Johnna just to see if I could put a character into that already screwed up world. The point of her story was to shine light on the fact that Spike is a jerk - which he is

Indy: A lot of people were a fan of this guy - especially those who hated the Zutara ship. His relationship with Zuko proved to be very strenuous but then again they fell in love during waring times so of course his life is full of strife. Indy is actually still active despite how little I draw him and Zuko anymore. I'll remedy that soon.

Julian: His story is on hiatus bu not retired. I wrote myself into a slight corner but his relationship with D is still a favorite amongst my fans

Brice: The 'Wolverine' of my fan characters - everyone loves him despite what a horrible person he really is. A jerk with a heart of gold he is. He's even more popular than Andria. I had no idea everyone would come to love him despite his occasional disregard for Jim's feelings.

Ava: Her story is at a bit of a stand still right now but I still consider her an active character. Not that many people know about A.T.O.M. so she's a little neglected.

Walking Dead OC's: I couldn't resist, the TV show is just so absurdly white washed that I created a group of Minorities to even it out. They have been far too much fun to write.

I enjoy making fan characters - they help me when I'm creating original characters. They allow me to test out personalities, situations and reactions before cementing them in my 'serious' work.

so basically you have no REAL use for fan characters. why don't you stop making them?

I know how you feel--I've created so many chars over the years I've lost count. XD Lately I've been lining up all my favorite "hero chars" that I've created from the time I was eight and trying to organize all the ones that never quite "got there" as secondary characters in their stories. The closet I go to throwing characters away is combining two of them together, and I don't do that often.

I do that all the time. Samael from RED used to look completely different. His current design is actually one I had for another character whose story didn't make it. Sioux is actually two characters in one - Alejandro too. Morgan and Lilith were originally from a series about bounty hunters that I never got around to finalizing. It's actually really funny

It's interesting to see several one dimensional characters combined into a single very interesting and well developed one
