at eight in the morning,our messy kitchen -
it's not perfect nothing
ever will be and i'm okay,
euphoric, even, watching my best friend -
in a grey slant of light
leaking through the turquoise curtain,
he asks me, "are you all right?"
and i can say honestly,
still in the awe of his sunflower eyes,
"i've never been happier."

What he said reminds me of a short story by Terry Bisson called "They're Made Out of Meat," in his book Bears Discover Fire.
I think it's a fine reason to marry someone. among others. XD
