Description I really have to go through all my boxes from Austria (where I moved from) to find this figure (hopefully in one pice) so I can get a better picture of it, here you can't see the legs witch is actually looking really good if I may say so my self...

I always imagines this as somewhat of a Demon-engine dreadnaught with a horrid demon locked inside all that machinery an circuits...

I can mention some of the pieces that I used during the construction of it...
skull form a heavy metal belt, pieces from (I think it was) a chaos rhino kit, a guitar plectrum, a plastic chaos shield, two saws, pieces and engine parts from a plastic motor cycle kit, parts from G.I. JOEs Zartan speeder bike, Transformers feet from (I think it was the seacon turtle), many other small plastic pieces and some wholly fabric taken from a sleeveless top

"Grim Future in Our Galaxy infested by corrupting Chaos"

Games, Bloody deadly lead heavy games, army lists of all those souls that will be grievingly collected by the Grim reaper and the Chaos gods...

Souls in a Galaxy corrupted by Insane gods, chaos warbands roaming space spreading plague and destruction,
your life is not worth a Boltgun Bolt...

Epic old concrete Buildings falling down on humaniods made out of flesh, crushed in the fight between Empire, chaos and Aliens Death comes eventually...

Vehicles of Great size rumbles on reeking of oil and combustion, loud and noisy, smaller Tyranid squashed underneath a Land-Raiders metal track...

Hunter-killers Swarm Across the battle field next to ravaging Genestealers, their claws cut through cumbersome heavy powerarmor like butter and flesh and blood sprouts out in random directions...

Orks Madboys follow their own twisted persuit in a seemingly aimless manner , most often released to cause confusion among enemy lines, followed by bands of gretchins clearing minefield with thier feet, all expendable...

Insanity released, troops to die on an alien battle "all for a greater Cause" the Emperor Loves you when you waste your life in his honour...

Fields of death, fire, pain and violence, giant structures falling down field support blows bodies appart, it doesn't matter what color of blood you have or if you have blood at all...

Two Armies or more on a gigantic minute battle field, a swamp on Catachan, the spire of Necromuna, in an drifting Space Hulk, the whole galaxy and beyond, forever war...

Combat is surviving, race angainst race, human agains human, alien against alien, no one is to trust, Imperial agents torturing for the sake of the Emperor appearing to be realltively good compare to the worst...

Space, Eldar Craftworlds travelling for eons with no partcular goal other than survive for another year, space pirates attacking cargo vessels for plunder and pillage, your life is worth less..

Chaos Daemons Possessing human bodies, turn them in to a mutating biological mess or even worse twists your brain around utill even the worst metal madness would be a perferance...

Mutations caused in willingly and unwillinger covens of chaos cultists, is it a reward or a cursed ride to something worse than hell??? sould eternally lost as imortal shaddows of pure pain and agony...

Wierd things that stalks you in an extraterrestrial djungle, that wants to suck your intestents out through a minor hole in your head, sometimes the other Army isn't your worst enemy... they might even have some pity on your soul...

A mutation twisting your body in a citys Hiveworld forgotten underworld, killing your kin for a pice of food, fighting for a few inches of territory, you're wort nothing, or only your will to live and fight...

Is the only salvation to become a Daemon Prince and torture other minor existents? such are those they ways of the Warhammer 40.000 universe, survival of the harshest of all and not even that can save your mortal soul, born to die forgotten on a giant battlefield, a minute place in the Galaxy we call the Milkyway, perhaps death is not a cure but a blessing...

Peace, Noise and Chaos

Hey, it's WH40K!
Boy, that brings me back. (My brother had a WH Bretonnian army and I built terrains.)

You know, I'd love to see this dreadnaught as it is, without all the photoshopped effects and all. I think that's something lacking in all three of the photos of this piece you've put up here. As someone who was once a miniature painter, I find that sometimes in photography, less is more. In this case, it's hard to appreciate the details with all that after-effect added. I am sure the dreadnaught would look awesome even without these funny glares and all. So, why don't you let it rock out on its own?

Yeah well I was a gamer once too and painted and converted miniature... and now I really feel like getting started a bit too again,
but almost all my citadels colors have dried up

Yeah it is a pity I haven't got a better picture (unedited) on my computer, and the model it self is somewhen in one of my million boxes I have here in my new home (hopefully in one piece), I recentily divorced my wife and moved from Vienna, Austria and to my Mum in sweden...

but I am gonna start to go through all my boxes of junk and see if I can find it and other things I have been missing for so long (it was a year ago I divorced and moved)

so perhaps one day I let the heavy metal rock in all it dreaddie glory

Citadel colours are good acrylic paint, so if your Citadel colours are gone, you can consider re-starting with a set of acrylics. Of course, it may not have all the different washes and the metallics can be lacking, but as far as flat colours go, store-bought acrylics actually isn't a bad way to go.

Sorry to hear that you've been moving and living out of boxes. I hope you'll get to unpacking soon and hopefully your dreadnaught had survived intact! I'd love to see it rock out in all its unadulterated glory. Best of luck!

MushroomBrain In reply to SinistrosePhosphate [2014-04-09 10:54:21 +0000 UTC]

yes I think I am gonna open one of the boxes today or tomorrow and start sorting out my life (quite litterally)

who knows it might be the one of the 50 boxes or so the dreadnaught is in (if I am really lucky (and it is not to broken))

yeah I liked citadells colors...

if I find some miniatures in the box I open I think I will experiment on them with other colors untill I get around to starting to buy citadells colors, might produce an intresting ressult or just a figure in a blob of acrylics

I think that sounds like a wonderful idea, my friend. I've been living out of boxes for a while, too (I move from city to city for the school and my degrees) and if there's one thing I really want to do, I want to actually get a property that I can call my own and do what I want with it. That dream won't happen for a while, but it'll always be a dream I want to work on.

In the meantime... good luck finding the dreadnaught!
I am pretty sure acrylic colours will turn out OK on plastic miniatures (and pewter ones if you have a good base coat). I hope your "interesting results" will be a pleasant surprise instead of blobs of acrylics.

yeah it is nice when you get to settle down, but since I now live at my mums place and it works I guess I am gonna stay here for a while
but sure it would be wondeful to have an aparment of ones own

ha ha ha yeah lets see what happens when it comes to minimature painting, well at the very least I have to find some figures in my boxes first (because I can't afford buying new ones )

I think it would be really nice to have an apartment all your own.
If nothing else, at least it means I can make a mess and be at peace with it (without the need to justify it!)

Yeah... let's see what happens when you find your miniatures. And when you have the time, don't forget to take photos and share with us!

well yeah who knows might find some of them

well I have a room here at my mums place and it is pretty messy, I always makes messes

SinistrosePhosphate In reply to MushroomBrain [2014-04-17 21:20:53 +0000 UTC]

Some people think messy working spaces help with creativity. Maybe that just means you're a creative person in general. And that's not a bad thing at all.

Of course, your mum might have something to say about it (I know my mum will keep on nagging if I don't keep my mess at least a little bit under control.) But then again, I don't live with my mum anymore. What she doesn't see won't hurt her!

MushroomBrain In reply to SinistrosePhosphate [2014-04-19 09:41:58 +0000 UTC]

he he he well I do think there is a link between creativety and messes well some people prefer it clean, but often these people aren't really as mad/creative as others

well I have only lived at my mums for one year now

SinistrosePhosphate In reply to MushroomBrain [2014-04-19 12:19:57 +0000 UTC]

I like to think a little bit of a mess actually helps you to solve problems. Besides, if there is completely no mess, it would feel like living in a museum. And nobody lives in museums...

I have two other housemates living with me right now. But we get along. We have our own little messes all around the house in discrete piles. And that works out.

MushroomBrain In reply to SinistrosePhosphate [2014-04-22 18:43:06 +0000 UTC]

he he he well yeah, for me it helps to think new thoughts when stuff are messy and not to ordered, chaos inspires me more than order

well it is just me... but I try to avoid biohazards like things rotting and stuff like that (I mean that is especially important if your living with other less messy people )

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SinistrosePhosphate In reply to MushroomBrain [2014-04-23 00:56:17 +0000 UTC]

That's exactly it. It's no fun to feel like you live in a museum.
A little controlled chaos goes a long, long way.

Oh, we try to avoid biohazards, too. But then again... one person's biohazard is another person's normal mess. We keep on finding "mystery meat" at the back of the fridge and no one can remember who bought them or when. But... we get over that. Just throw it away and everything's OK!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MushroomBrain In reply to SinistrosePhosphate [2014-04-25 11:02:16 +0000 UTC]

he he he mystery meat sounds interesting, yeah some thing that suit no one else can be what others thrive on like bacteria

I remeber that two of my friends who where living in a student flat, brewed spicy red wine, non of them liked the wine they brewed so the called it SVIN (Svin in swedish is Swine and Vin is Wine so it actually works in english to as well )

anyway since not of them and their friends liked they alway tried to give it away for free at parties, I tried it and was the only one who liked it, so whenever they had a party I had free (s)Wine to drink

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SinistrosePhosphate In reply to MushroomBrain [2014-04-26 02:39:24 +0000 UTC]

Ahahaha.... SVIN!
That's a great name. It sounds a lot like "pruno", which is a kind of liquor people make in prisons because alcohol is a contraband. Apparently pruno tastes so bad that once you drink it you want to kill yourself or kill someone else. (Which made the prison guards look for them. Because it turns the inmates dangerous.) But hey... if you like it...

... you just can't say no to (s)Wine.

MushroomBrain In reply to SinistrosePhosphate [2014-05-01 15:21:50 +0000 UTC]

he he he no not a bottle of free (s)wine

hmm Pruno sound like an interesting drink should try it some time...!!!

reminds me that I once bought a plastic bottle of brown wine from a punk who bought it from a guy named Mackis who made it himself,
I got to buy it for only 10 swedish Crowns (aprox. 1Euro) because he couldn't drink it
it was not tasty but I managed to squeeze it down my guts

SinistrosePhosphate In reply to MushroomBrain [2014-05-02 02:33:51 +0000 UTC]

You can't say no to s(wine)!
We brewed our own wine before, too. But it came from a kit. It wasn't so bad. I don't think we'd ever call it s(wine).

Here's a recipe for Pruno: www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdpTD1…
There are a few recipes around, but it's pretty similar all the same. If you used real, white sugar, the taste should be better and the alcohol content will be a little higher.

If you can drink brown wine made from a punk, I have a feeling you can stomach pruno, too. Maybe you might even like it.

MushroomBrain In reply to SinistrosePhosphate [2014-05-07 06:02:32 +0000 UTC]

so you haven't made s(wine)

he he he yeah I got wine brewery tips from two other friend, but right now I am living at a small room at my mums place after a divorce and I don't think she would like me brewing anything in here

ha ha ha well now a days I am more sensitive on what I put in my tummy

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SinistrosePhosphate In reply to MushroomBrain [2014-05-07 23:21:01 +0000 UTC]

Oh, no... we haven't made s(wine).
But, then again, I haven't drank alcohol for a number of months now. No big reason - not trying to quit. It just happened.

My mum has been trying to make her own fruit vinegar because it is supposed to be healthy. It's actually pretty easy and doesn't take up a lot of space (just a 2-gallon glass container, really.) If it's so easy to make small-batch vinegar, it should be just as easy to make small batch alcohol. Of course, it means you'll be looking at a bottle or two at once, but that's good for experimentation.

You never know, you might come up with something really good.

MushroomBrain In reply to SinistrosePhosphate [2014-05-12 12:17:50 +0000 UTC]

well I guess the recipies can be found on the internet...

wow I have never heard about any one making their own Vinegar, but I tried to drink a bottle once because it cointained 12% alcohol

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SinistrosePhosphate In reply to MushroomBrain [2014-05-12 18:22:10 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I think so, too.

In fact, I think my mum's friend (the one who gave her the vinegar recipe) found it on-line, too. It came with a label about not fermenting it too long - otherwise it'll turn into wine. I think that's exactly what you're talking about... My mum's convinced that it's healthy for the body to drink a table-spoonful of this fruit vinegar a day and cooking with it. I don't know... I never liked the taste of vinegar. It's just not my thing...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MushroomBrain In reply to SinistrosePhosphate [2014-07-09 03:37:17 +0000 UTC]

well I guess it is health somehow, any way it is good for cleaning coffee machines...

no the vinegar I drank was suppose to contain alcohol somehow since it said 12% on the front label on it

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SinistrosePhosphate In reply to MushroomBrain [2014-07-09 21:19:30 +0000 UTC]

Well... vinegar is great in cleaning off a lot of stuff. Windows, coffee machines, even the kitchen sink. I'm all for how useful this stuff is when it comes to cleaning. When it comes to health... I can get my health-elixir somewhere else that doesn't taste like... well, vinegar.

Aah, is that right? I've never seen exactly alcoholic vinegar before. Where did you get something like that?
