(I’m not gonna tryna give out all my secrets now, every artist is like a magician. They have their own skills and secrets that are unique to them. ♪(´ε` ))

Well it’s mostly experimenting with the program. Like I my process is drawing the picture I want on paper, then transferring it to MS Paint and then tracing it then do a few things so I can color it in. I’ve been doing that for years, and I don’t use the pencil tool, I like to use the curve line personally. It just makes the lines so much cleaner and I do change and clean up the lines. If you wanna do gradients, use the the spray can tool. That’s a life staved (≧∇≦)

Then I like to thin and thicken my lines to look like I use a pressure pen or a program like that.

Sometimes I like to photoshop specific parts of another imagine to incorporate it into m picture and sometimes I do add photoshop to my pictures a little bit to enhance colors and add a few things with the lighting and stuff.

If you wanna see it, there’s a speed Paint I did on my Youtube Channel if you’re interest. My channel is linked on my first comment on my profile.

Thank you for asking, that was a really good question because people are usually interested in my art program and wonder how I make something like that.

¡Then I will consider you as my MS Paint Master, get a watch from this newbie MS Paint Duelist! >:"3

¡And I also use MS Paint!, and seeing your Valentine's Speedpaint on YT and comparing it with my methods, I can really say that I use a primitive and rigid MS Paint version, I have no idea how you do several things there, like to use "layers" there

By my way of using the program, I use the common brush, level one for small and detailed drawings or level two for large and thick drawings

Then I do my mental sketch, ugly at the beginning and with physical errors, but then I perform it to be a lineart in the sense of the word

Finally I color, shade and done. Tought I add Photoshop effects and also I add Backgrounds and other things trough layers, adding efects to try give a dinamism efect

This are commonly the results of my work, ¿what do you think? :"3

Well I don't know all of the MS Paint looks or the version you gave but there isn't really a real layer mechanism.
But to do "Layers" there's two ways. There's the eraser way and the transparent way.

The eraser way is that you put the color you want to change into the first color box, and the color you want to change that first color into in the second box.
The eraser will be the color in box two, and if you right click and move the eraser around the color that's in box one, the color in box one will change to the color in box two. It really helps coloring and filling in those small places you can'r really get.

The transparent way is correlated to box one and box two. If you want to work on a background without interfering with the figures or add textures to certain places.
So you go to that dotted square thing on the top left and you click the arrow below it and click "Transparent mode" or something like that. This helps a lot in regards to the second box.
So lets say you either go on a blank area or go to a new picture/window on mspaint and paint your background. Or you can use an image online (Don't recommend it unless you edit it to not look like the original.) For textures you can stretch the picture the have a blank space on the side and then create the textures (make sure the black space color is the color you want is the color you want the surface to be.
So make sure you color the places you want to change to the same color in box two.
Move the picture by selecting it and putting it on top on the textured areas or the new background and then it should layer itself and BAM textures and background.
I'm not good at explaining things, you should just search up "Layers in MS Paint" on youtube and the person will explain it 10 times better than I did XDD
