but yeah well the thing is I don't use a pick, so yeah you know it kinda makes it easier to cut open while playing (:

Maybe you should use a classic guitar instead..

how can you play metal without using a pick?(: you need it for the fast solos, muting the power chords and a sharper sound. I used to play Heavy rock and metal.. now it's mostly blues, some jazz and soft rock.

You really don't need a pick for most of it, I mean I think it really just depends on how you learnt to play you know (:
Of course I do use it for the solos and a few other things but I can mostly make it sound good just using my fingers (:
