So this idea came a little bit out of no where for me. I was just browsing my paintings I have in my sta.sh, and then I thought, "Hey, why not make a painting with Flotsam and Jetsam?" So, I did just that. This particular scene in "The Little Mermaid" always fascinated me. After this intense scene Ariel witnesses her father destroy everything in her grotto, including a statue of the Prince she's fallen in love with, the atmosphere turns quiet and still.Ariel starts crying and we have a few seconds to sort of cry with her. That is until these two show up, haha, then we're all like, "Uh oh..." Flotsam and Jetsam then tempt Ariel with promises that Ursula can "make all of your dreams come true." Of course Ariel is a little hesitant at first, but she then ultimately agrees to go with them.

So I wanted to do something a little different in portraying this scene, from a different perspective and even different positions of the characters. I wanted to get the sense as if the viewer is peeking inside of the grotto to see what is going on. I am really happy with how this turned out, and I might do some more in the future. Also... fuck those pervy eel creeps, haha!
