Description The clouds broke up, and the sun lent some color to the sky, so I headed downtown to shoot a couple photos. In the daytime, during tourist season, this street corner is bustling with people. On a Sunday evening, though, with no tour ships in town, it's wonderfully quiet.

Beautiful mood here and I love the panoramic styles - it gives them almost an abstract appearance. Out of the normal is my middle name.

Thanks, Kevin! Yeah, the light here was pretty cool--the rain clouds were breaking up just in time for some nice evening light. I'm really enjoying doing the panorama thing--I really need to find a place that prints that format--I could probably find a market for some of them... I love how they appear just a little out of normal. Out of the normal is way your middle name, my friend.

I run out of unique adjectives to put in my comments for you, because my first reaction is usually the same - stunning, beautiful! This image also has amazing depth, and a nice "home town", tranquil feel to it. Very nice work Mike!

Always so nice to have empty streets The calm before the storm, if you will! Lovely stitch!

Thank you, Michelle... I personally don't mind the crowds of tourists in the summer, but I'm with the rest of the town as far as breathing a big sigh of relief when the last tour ship of the season sails off to the horizon...

Extremely well done. It's not easy to get the right levels to convey the time of day such as in this shot. The balance of the sky, detail in buildings with window light is just spot on, and the wet road for reflections a bonus ! ... Alex

Thanks, Alex! Yeah, I felt I got a little lucky on some of the elements in this photo... Others I took in the same light, well, that orange glow just looks a little unnatural. It was interesting light.

I work just a block or two away from this corner, but I seldom get out to see the crowds of tourists... Maybe I ought to do a little street photography during my lunch hours!
