Description
Shady Chocobo came to me to redesign his site to be more professional and user friendly. I needed a portfolio filler. So here it is. Suggestions appreciated.Update: Got rid of the shrooms by request of Shady, and I rounded out the content boxes more. And touched up other areas.

A nice, fresh design! A little simplistic, but it doesn't really need to be a whole lot more advanced. As a web designer myself there's a few off bits I can see, but that's mainly to do with lining things up more evenly. Also, I'm not sure how that shadow behind the template (touching the blue background) will work without becoming a huge image that takes up a chunk of bandwidth. The gradient background is nice, but I can't see how the shadow will work.

Its easy, I can either create a transparent PNG for the shadow, or I can just slice the gradient bg as a tile, then on the top of the image I slice the shadow+gradient until it stops and then put the image on the side while coding. Its easy

That's just filler text. So instead of spending time typing out some text that'll never be used in the final design, designers tend to place chunks of this latin text in. It looks like the final site will be in English, though.

Personally I think it's a bit bland. It needs more to keep me interested.

I thought the brightness of the blue was blinding, if not a little interesting. I dont know what to add to make it more interesting other than little sprites in other areas of the site.
Have any suggestions towards that?

Perhaps add some more detail to the different sections of the site in the title bars. For example, you could incorporate one of the characters that you have top right into one of the bars, giving the site a lot more interesting features. Another idea would be something as simple as adding bulletpoints (but using your own images, not the default bulletpoints) to the menu items and/or spacing them out a little more. Definitely consider my first idea though
